CxC Waterloo U Hackathon | A Data Science Hackathon

Experience CxC, a hackathon that brings together students and companies to build projects that solve real-world problems. CxC is a data challenge where students work with real-world datasets to build projects and showcase innovative ideas. With over 2,500 young professionals in their community and 200+ participants each year, the event has been supported by companies like Ernst & Young, Interac, and Databricks. Nomad Futurist will have access to this unique talent pool and contribute a dataset to gain valuable insights. We are excited to announce that in February 2025, DSC is hosting our fifth hackathon. Diverse companies can also access Waterloo's unique and world-renowned talent pool (and prospective candidates) to drive insights into some of the problems by contributing a dataset. In previous years, CxC has included datasets for crop classification, medical documentation classification, and much more! We have over 2500 young professionals in our community and have hosted over 200 participants in each of the previous iterations of the event which were supported by very well-known companies.

Over the years, the event has grown to become a vibrant community with over 2,500 young professionals and more than 200 participants arriving annually to take on these challenges. Esteemed organizations such as Ernst & Young, Interac, and Databricks have shown their support by contributing datasets, offering mentorship, and engaging with participants throughout the hackathon.

This year, we are thrilled to announce that CxC will be celebrating its fifth iteration in February 2025, hosted by Data Science Club. The event promises to be bigger than ever, providing diverse companies with unparalleled access to Waterloo’s world-renowned and uniquely talented student base. This hackathon offers organizations the opportunity to not only engage with future talent but to gain actionable insights by contributing a dataset for participants to explore. Previous editions of CxC have featured datasets addressing critical themes like crop classification, medical documentation classification, natural language processing, and more, allowing participants to tackle tangible global problems.
