Simon Allen

Simon Allen is a Digital Infrastructure professional with significant experience in the data center sector. He has been active in the industry for over 20 years, leading international teams in the development of large data center and communication infrastructures. He is based in London and is known for founding the UK Data Centre Interest Group (UKDCIG) in 2011. This group was established to facilitate the sharing of experiences among data center operators and design and build consultants, focusing on exploring innovative methodologies and technologies.

In January 2018 to December 2022, Simon Allen was appointed Executive Director of Infrastructure Masons (iM), a global, non-profit, professional association. This organisation is guided by an Advisory Council comprising industry leaders responsible for the largest and most advanced digital infrastructure portfolios in the world. Infrastructure Masons serves as a platform where industry leaders and thinkers converge to address complex problems and challenges as the industry continues to grow and evolve.

In addition, Simon Allen was a co-founder and Director of the Data Center Incident Reporting Network (DCiRN), a non-profit initiative aimed at enhancing the safety and reliability of data centres by anonymously sharing information on incidents.

Since 2023 Simon Allen has been working as a Senior Advisor in the Digital Infrastructure sector working with a portfolio of clients, predominantly with an AI focus, and is a regular keynote speaker at leading industry global events.
