Bjørn Vik

With over 40 years of expertise in the tech space from the early dial-up Internet buildouts to building his own companies within the CaaS and subsea fiber business, Bjørn brings along expertise from many sides of the digital infrastructure business. The key is and has always been carrier grade systems – and network design.

Bjørn´s career spans from the early Internet days with dial-up and low bandwidth challenges and moving on to be part of the first broadband over cable companies in Europe and then to other parts of the world. Moving on to cover both R&D, Engineering and operations leading roles before entering the datacenter and dark fiber buildouts in Scandinavia. The later years he has built infrastructure companies both in the subsea cable and MaaS (Machine as a Service) business. This alongside aiding the largest health sector in Norway modernize their network to a code driven automated network.

Bjørn has for many years operated as a mentor within several business and organisations. He lives by the pay forward in action and not just words. Having the pleasure to join the Nomad Futurist community and help facilitate knowhow and expertise in the fields he has operated in for so many years. This is all about paying forward and help bring young talent into this important part of digital service offering.
