IEEE IAS Electrical Safety Workshop | 2025

The 2025 IEEE IAS Electrical Safety Workshop Registration is NOW OPEN! This will be a valuable event for anyone interested in electrical safety. With its comprehensive educational sessions, tutorials, and expo, the event provides a platform for professionals to learn, network, and engage with industry leaders. Next year’s workshop will take place in Jacksonville, FL, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel from March 3-7, 2025. 2024 Electrical Safety Workshop Summary The IEEE Industrial Applications Society (IAS) Electrical Safety Workshop (ESW) took place in Tucson, Arizona from March 4-8, 2024. It was an exciting event for the 572 attendees who participated in the educational sessions, including tutorials, technical papers, standards development, a student program, Electrical Safety Products and Services Expo, and guest activities. Of the 572 attendees, 216 attended the event for the first time, indicating that the workshop continues to attract a new audience interested in electrical safety. The event included 31 papers presented over several days covering a wide range of topics related to electrical safety. Additionally, seven tutorials provided for 587 spaces for attendees interested in learning more about specific aspects of electrical safety. These attendees also gained continuing education credits. The IEEE IAS Electrical Safety Workshop also included four awards that recognized exceptional contributions to the field of electrical safety. H. Landis Floyd Outstanding Service Award: Paul B. Sullivan Excellence in Prevention through Design Award: Nehad El-Sherif Technical Achievement Award: Marcia B. Eblen and Tom A. Short Young Professional Achievement Award: Daniel Majano These awards are an essential part of the event, as they highlight the achievements of individuals and organizations making a significant impact in the field. The William C. Jordan Award was not awarded this year. The Electrical Safety Products and Services Expo was another event highlight, featuring 57 exhibit booths showcasing the latest electrical safety products and services. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with manufacturers and suppliers, learn about new products and services, and network with industry professionals. About Us The ESW is organized by the IEEE IAS Electrical Safety Committee (ESafeC) and sponsored by the IEEE Industry Applications Society and the Local IEEE Florida Council. The scope of the ESafeC is treatment for all matters within the scope of the IAS in which the emphasis or dominant factor specifically relates to occupational hazards of electrical energy. Topics include, but are not limited to: hazard phenomena, inherently safer design, work practices, hazard mitigation and electrical safety management. The ESafeC has created subcommittees to help fulfil their mission. The Electrical Safety Committee and its subcommittees meet at the ESW on Monday, March 3, 2025. This registration site allows you to register to attend the worksop as a workshop attendee or exhibitor. Register on or before January 31, 2025, to get the discounted registration rates and purchase optional items like ESW shirts. If you are staying at the workshop hotel, make your hotel reservation first as you will need your hotel registration confirmation number during the ESW registration process to avoid the $200 USD charge for not having a reservation with the workshop hotel. IEEE Life Members are exempt from this fee.
